A prayer quilt is for anyone with a special need. The idea behind these quilts is simple, yet powerful. A heavy thread is used to go through the quilt layers and the ends are tied with a knot. Quilts are prayed over as they are made and tied. As each knot is tied a silent prayer is offered for someone in special need. The quilt is given to that person. We put a church logo and the person's name and a cross is sewn on each quilt as a statement of our belief in Jesus.
The ministry meets every third Thursday of each month from 12:30 p.m. til 2:00 p.m. at Mason County Reformed Church's All Purpose Room.
These quilts are a statement of faith, a testimony to our belief in God and in the power of prayer. It is a gift of love. The prayer quilt ministry is an international organization started in 1992 at Hope United Methodist in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
